GlasSpan

The Ultimate Bond. The Perfect Choice. Take a Closer Look.

GLASSPAN COMPARED TO OTHER PRODUCTS

When you compare the qualities of GlasSpan to other fiber reinforcement systems, you will quickly see why GlasSpan is the material of choice!

Easy handling without contamination- most dentists who have tried both GlasSpan and the other fiber reinforcement systems have said that they find GlasSpan easier to work with. The dentist can touch GlasSpan without contamination. Some of the other reinforcement materials are either surface treated or pre-impregnated with resin and cannot be touched directly with your fingers or your gloves without contamination. This makes it more difficult to handle or try-in the mouth prior to placement.

Thinner and more flexible- GlasSpan tape is the thinnest, most flexible fiber reinforcement material on the market, The other reinforcement materials are thicker than the GlasSpan Tape. Some of the competitors have recently come out with a thin material, but it still is thicker than GlasSpan. Glasspan is more flexible for easier placement.

Cuts easily with no special scissors- Glasspan cuts with any scissors that the dentist has for sutures or retraction cord. Other manufacturers’ materials require special scissors at additional cost to you.

Unique round braided rope configuration- GlasSpan is the only fiber that is braided into a hollow rope( in addition to the Tape) which is more convenient for intracoronal splinting as well as the GlasSpan bridge and post and core buildups. The ropes can be injected with the flowable composite or post-core material. No other company has this round format.

Patented surface treatment- GlasSpan is the only etched and silanated ceramic fiber. This assures ultimate mechanical and chemical adhesion to the composite resin. Some of the other fibers are precoated with resin, but without the patented surface treatment that assures maximum bond strength.

Ceramic fiber-not plastic- Ceramic fibers are dimensionally more stable than plastic, and do not wick moisture into the restoration. The translucency of the glass fiber is more esthetic, and the ceramic material does not fray if exposed during polishing and may be easily covered over without jeopardizing the entire restoration. This is not true of plastic fiber reinforcement materials.

Cost effective- GlasSpan provides you with a single assortment with the material necessary for all of the fiber reinforced procedures. Some of the competitors require the purchase of multiple kits for the various applications, and this can become costly. The addition of special scissors in some of the kits also adds unnecessary cost.

Polishing and adjusting- Should plastic fibers accidentally become exposed during the polishing and adjusting of the restoration, they will fray and the patient will feel the fibers. The material becomes contaminated and the splint must be remade. GlasSpan can easily be polished and covered over without fraying.

Indefinite shelf-life-GlasSpan is one of the few materials with an indefinite shelf-life.

GlasSpan Master Clinician’s System-This convenient kit provides the doctor with everything necessary to perform all of the fiber reinforced restorations without going to multiple sources. Only GlasSpan offers this complete system.
