CERAMIC FIBERS: Superior polishability, extremely durable. Because GlasSpan ropes and tapes are made of flexible ceramic fibers, they offer unsurpassed dimensional stability when compared to traditional plastic fibers and ribbons. GlasSpan ropes and tapes won’t fray when polished. What’s more, they won’t break down or introduce moisture or other contaminates into the restoration, and are completely biocompatible. And because our ropes and tapes are thin, they’re virtually invisible when resin coated. Patients and professionals alike appreciate their aesthetic value.
No special instruments, no special gloves. Unlike other fiber reinforcement materials, GlasSpan requires no special scissors. When cut, GlasSpan hollow ropes are designed to open wide for easy composite resin injection. Once filled, the ends pinch closed with no fraying. GlasSpan tapes are also easily cut by first coating with resin. You don’t need special gloves, either. Touching GlasSpan with bare hands or latex gloves won’t harm it or ruin its superior bonding power. The bottom line? Easier handling, with less chair time and greater patient satisfaction.
Nanohybrid resins: The ultimate bond The strength of a fiber-reinforced restoration depends on the relationship between a fiber’s tensile and flexural strength, a composite’s compressive strength, and the strength of the bond between them. We researched and tested virtually every composite resin on the market today. Our specially-formulated advanced nanohybrid composite resin offers superior compressive strength, and forms a unique, lasting bond with our patented, etched and silanated E-glass ceramic fiber ropes and tapes. Thus, we can say with absolute certainty that the GlasSpan system will allow you to create lasting restorations with maximum flexural, compressive and tensile strength.
The GlasSpan Master Clinician’s System The GlasSpan Master Clinician’s System includes all the materials you need to perform fiber-reinforced bonding procedures quickly and easily. Each system includes three sizes of braided rope (small, medium and large), and an ultra-thin woven tape. Each vial contains enough material for many applications, and can be stored indefinitely. You’ll also get a 37% gel etchant, adhesive bond, our new flowable high-performance nano-hybrid composite resin, and an anterior-posterior nano-hybrid composite resin. Plus brushes, applicators, mixing wells, and a detailed instruction manual and companion DVD. The original GlasSpan Fiber Reinforcement Kit and new GlasSpan Composite Resin Support Kit are also available as separate components.
