GlasSpan® Composites & Fiber-Reinforcement Systems
GlasSpan® Etchant Gel
GlasSpan® Etchant Gel is a 37% phosphoric acid gel with excellent thixotropic characteristics. Delivered in 2 ml. syringes with a very thin disposable needle-tip applicator, it is easily and safely applied to the desired tooth structure.
Warnings
GlasSpan® Etchant Gel contains phosphoric acid and is corrosive. Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membrane and skin, (safety glasses are recommended for both patients and dentists). In the event of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician/ophthalmologist. In the event of contact with the skin, rinse immediately with soap and water.
Preparation of Etchant Gel syringe
Remove the screw cap and replace with a disposable needle-tip applicator.
Store the screw cap!
Note:
The needle-tip applicator may be bent in a slight arc, if desired, to facilitate application.
Handling precaution:
Squeeze out the first small drop on a pad to ensure proper handling and
prevent “shooting out” of the etching gel by entrapped air.
Application of GlasSpan® Etchant Gel
Apply GlasSpan® Etchant Gel onto the enamel and dentin surfaces and leave the
etching gel in place for 20 seconds. Rinse for 20 seconds with water. Dry with a
water and oil-free airstream, but do not desiccate. The degree of moisture left
will depend upon the bonding technique utilized.
Etching precaution:
It is essential that etched areas remain uncontaminated. If contamination occurs,
re-etch, rinse with water and dry as above. Avoid etchant gel contact with oral
soft tissues, eyes and skin. If accidental contact occurs, flush immediately with copious amounts of water.
After use, replace the disposable needle-tip applicator with the screw cap. Discard used needle-tip applicator.
Application of Adhesive
Apply the adhesive of choice on etched enamel and dentin surfaces according to manufacturer's instructions.
Restorative Placement, Cure and Finishing
Refer to the specific manufacturer's instructions for placement, curing and finishing of the restorative material of choice.

Do not store above 25 °C (78 °F).
