GlasSpan® Composites & Fiber-Reinforcement Systems
GlasSpan® SpectraBond-Nano™
A high performance, self-etching, dual-cured, nanoparticle-filled dental adhesive. It is designed for extremely strong bonding of composites to enamel and dentin utilizing enhanced adhesion through proprietary nano-technology. SpectraBond-Nano™ is compatible with all brands of visible light-cured, self-cured and dual-cured composite materials and glass ionomers, making it a universal adhesive system suitable for direct and indirect procedures, as well as the most recent “selective etch” technique. Offered in convenient unidose form, the manufacturer sells direct to the clinician, thereby providing this product at the lowest possible price.
Application
Isolation
Rubber dam is the recommended method of isolation.
Cavity Preparation
Clean the tooth with flour of pumice and water prior to preparation. Prepare the cavity with minimal tooth reduction. Margins should have a slight (0.5 - 1.0 mm) bevel placed in the enamel to increase the surface area for greater bond strength.
Pulp Protection
Irritations resulting from direct or near contact with the pulp cannot be ruled out. Therefore appropriate desensitizing agents or pulp protection on the cavity floor in cases of deep excavations should be considered.
Application of GlasSpan SpectraBond-Nano™
Pierce through the aluminum foil with a microtip applicator or brush. GlasSpan SpectraBond-Nano™ with a brush or microtip applicator onto the wet enamel and dentin surfaces for 30 seconds with agitation. The material should build a homogeneous layer. Air thin gently for 10 seconds to remove the volatile components and to disperse the adhesive. Then light cure with a suitable dental light unit for 10 seconds before composite placement.
Restorative Placement, Cure and Finishing
Refer to the specific manufacturers instructions for placement, curing and finishing of the restorative material of choice.
Storage
Do not store above 25 °C (78 °F). Avoid storage in direct sunlight. Do not use after expiration date.
